Diljit Dosanjh opens up about ban against ‘Sardaar Ji 3’ despite India V Pakistan cricket
Singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh has addressed the growing controversy surrounding his film ‘Sardaar Ji 3’, the casting of Pakistani actor Hania Aamir, and recent India-Pakistan tensions, including the Pahalgam terror attack and the Asia Cup cricket match held on 14th September.
Speaking candidly during his concert in Malaysia, Dosanjh said, “My film Sardaar Ji 3 was shot before the terror attack, and the match was played after it. I have many answers to give, but I’ve been quiet.” His remarks come amid criticism over the film’s cross-border casting and its restricted release in Pakistan.
Dosanjh also questioned the inconsistency in cultural and sporting exchanges, stating, “India and Pakistan are playing cricket, but my film can’t release there. I don’t understand this logic.” The Asia Cup match, which India won, drew attention not only for the result but also for the lack of customary greetings between the teams.
