Bobby Deol joins Ahaan Panday’s next with Ali Abbas Zafar

Veteran actor Bobby Deol has joined the cast of an upcoming film starring Ahaan Panday and Sharvari, produced by Aditya Chopra for Yash Raj Films and directed by Ali Abbas Zafar. Following his acclaimed performances in ‘Animal’ and ‘The Bads of Bollywood’, Deol will take on a pivotal role in this yet-to-be-titled project.

Deol is set to portray a character positioned in opposition to Panday’s protagonist, though not as a conventional antagonist. A source told Mid-Day, “It would be inaccurate to label him the villain. His character holds an authoritative role, but there are deeper layers. As the narrative unfolds, Bobby’s character reveals shades of grey that shape his relationship with the hero.”

The filmmakers were reportedly clear from the outset that Deol’s role should not be overtly sinister, given his previous portrayals of such characters. Instead, Zafar has crafted a larger-than-life figure with nuanced motivations, tailored specifically for Deol. The actor joined the project just a week ago.

Director Ali Abbas Zafar is expected to travel to England for a location recce, with filming scheduled to commence in the first quarter of 2026, subject to final preparations.
