‘Balika Vadhu’ actress Pratyusha Banerjee commits suicide

The latest reports from Mumbai have revealed the sad news that popular TV actress Pratyusha Banerjee, best known for her role as Anandi in ‘Balika Vadhu’, has committed suicide. She was apparently pronounced dead at Kokilaben Hospital, after hanging herself earlier today.

News suggests that 24-year-old Banerjee was depressed about her relationship with her beau Rahul Raj Singh – the two were seen recently in ‘Power Couple’. It was being said only a few months ago that the couple were planning to get married soon.

Sidharth Shukla, who was Banerjee’s ‘Balika Vadhu’ co-star, said to Bollywood Life, “I also just heard the news and I am shocked. This is indeed very sad and depressing”.

Banerjee was no stranger to reality TV, as she’d also done a stint on ‘Bigg Boss’ in the 7th season. She also featured in ‘Sasural Simar Ka’ recently.
