ARY Network acquires majority stake in news platform, Nukta
Pakistan’s ARY Digital Network has acquired a majority stake in the digital news platform Nukta, in a move that signals the broadcaster’s growing push into the digital media space.
The deal brings the Dubai-based newsroom, founded by veteran journalist Kamran Khan, into ARY’s wider media ecosystem. Nukta, which launched as a digital-first platform focused on politics, business and current affairs, is expected to continue operating independently while benefiting from ARY’s broadcasting infrastructure and wider audience reach.
As part of the arrangement, Kamran Khan is set to take on a leadership role within the network, strengthening the link between the television channel and the digital outlet. His current affairs programme ‘On My Radar’, which has built a following online, is also expected to reach a broader audience through ARY’s television platforms.
Salman Iqbal, Founder of the ARY Digital Network & CEO of the ARY Group, said: “The media landscape is changing rapidly, and ARY has always been at the forefront of that evolution. By bringing Nukta into the ARY ecosystem, we are strengthening our digital presence while building on ARY’s global broadcast leadership. We are confident this integrated platform will deliver powerful journalism and innovative storytelling for the digital age.”
The acquisition reflects ARY’s strategy to expand beyond traditional broadcasting as news consumption increasingly shifts towards digital and on-demand formats. By integrating Nukta into its network, the broadcaster is aiming to combine its established television presence with a growing online newsroom capable of producing digital-first content.

Nukta has gained attention since its launch for assembling a team of experienced journalists and producing video-led news coverage for online audiences. The partnership with ARY is likely to strengthen its reach while giving the broadcaster a stronger foothold in the rapidly evolving digital news market.
The move also highlights a wider shift within the media industry, where established television networks are investing in digital platforms to remain competitive as audiences migrate from traditional TV to online news.
“This partnership creates an exciting opportunity to combine ARY’s unmatched broadcast reach with Nukta’s fast-growing digital platform. Together, we aim to build a modern media platform that delivers credible journalism, sharp analysis and compelling storytelling for audiences across Pakistan and the global South Asian community,” added Kamran Khan, Chairman of ARY News & Nukta.
