Aastha Gill has been working with Badshah for some time and they’ve had so many hit songs. However, their latest track Paani Paani is one that has created waves like no other. Gill has also recently been shooting for the next season of ‘Khatron Ki Khiladi’ in South Africa.

To catch up on all of this and more, BizAsia caught up with the singer.

Your song with Badshah, Paani Paani, has become quite a rage. Did you think it would reach quite the appreciation it has?
Honestly yes. I had anticipated it to be a grand song. It can fall nothing short of when there is Jacqueline and Badshah Bhai. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves while working on this project and we’re confident the audience would equally enjoy it. Badshah bhai wasn’t there when I was dubbing it. That was difficult for me at first place but we pulled it off.

Jacqueline Fernandez in the video does complete justice to your vocals. What was your experience working with her?
I’m a big fan of her personally. And when I got to know she will be in the video I was super excited. She is a gem of a person and very hardworking. I’m so glad that my voice complements her. Honestly I had anticipated it to be a grand song. It can fall nothing short of when there is Jacqueline and Badshah Bhai. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves while working on this project and we’re confident the audience would equally enjoy it.

You’ve collaborated with Badshah before and given us some great music. What do you personally think clicks between you two which delivers for the audiences?
My experience with Badshah bhai was always been incredible. We are like family working together. There is a level of comfort between us and we both are from North India, that clicks too. It was super fun as usual and I love it. I would like to do a million more songs with him.

You’ve been participating in ‘KKK3’ in South Africa, how has that experience been?
It is great and something I have never done before. Firstly, it was my television debut and Khatron Ke Khiladi has been one of my favourite shows when I was young kid. I used to be glued to TV watching all episodes. So when I got this opportunity in the beginning I was bit stuck as I have never done TV and I was questioning if I would be able to do it ,but I also felt that I need some change and need some adventure. I think it was one of the best decision of my life.

Who do you think you’ve struck up the best bond with during the shoot?
It’s everyone actually, but I if I have to choose anyone then it’s Nikki Tamboli.

What do you think the audiences will see from you during the show which might be unexpected or fresh?
We cannot reveal details now, but will come back with that soon.

What’s up next for you?
I have planned lot of collaborations and lot of singles on the way and I have been working on my albums as well. You’ll be hearing alot from me in coming time.
