ZEEL set to re-launch ZEE Classic, a year after its demise

ZEE Entertainment Enterprises Limited is rumoured to be re-working on a strategy to revive its channel, ZEE Classic, a year after it was replaced by ZEE Bollywood.

According to Exchange4Media, ZEE Classic will return as a premium property and is expected to go live in the first quarter of the next financial year.

A source told the publication, “ZEE Classic will come back and will be a premium offering. They are looking to launch it in the first quarter of the next financial year. There was a lot of confusion about ZEE Classic being HD and this and that. It’s not an HD channel but will be a premium offering and will launch in the first quarter of the next financial year. But decisions on the same are yet to be finalised.”

It is said that ZEE Bollywood will continue broadcasting in its current form.
