ZEE5 & Netflix secure streaming rights of SS Rajamouli’s ‘RRR’?

Netflix and ZEE5 have acquired the streaming rights of SS Rajamouli’s upcoming movie, ‘RRR.’ Earlier this week the producers announced that after the theatrical release of the movie, the Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada versions will be made available on ZEE5. And Netflix will stream the Hindi, Portuguese, Korean, Turkish and Spanish versions.

According to reports, ZEE purchased the digital and satellite rights of the movie by paying over Rs 300 crore, reports The New Indian Express. However, the network and the filmmakers have not officially revealed the exact financial details.

‘RRR’ is currently in the post-production stage. Following the country opening up back in January, the filmmakers resumed shooting and were able to complete the filming quickly.

The makers are hopeful to release the film worldwide on 13th October later this year.
