Yo Yo Honey Singh’s Makhna lands into controversy

The Punjab State Women Commission is seeking to file an FIR due to the “vulgar” lyrics used in Yo Yo Honey Singh’s popular song Makhna.

Chair of the Punjab Women’s Panel Manisha Gulati has recommended to the Punjab Home Secretary, Director General of Police, and Inspector General of Police a consequence in the form of a ban on the song in the Punjab state, asserting, “We have asked the police to register an FIR against the singer for using vulgar lyrics against women in his song ‘Makhna’”.

Additionally, Gulati has stated that the Women’s Panel has also requested that the police submit a status report by 12th July.
