Vidya Balan hospitalised; birthday plans cancelled

BizAsia reported recently that Vidya Balan would be celebrating her birthday without her family for the first time. However, plans have now been cancelled as Balan was hospitalised today with suspected kidney stone.

Balan and husband Siddharth Roy Kapur are thought to have boarded a flight from Abu Dhabi to their destination but as the aircraft was getting ready to take off, Balan suffered a severe pain. The couple were deplaned after paramedics were brought on board, according to TOI. Roy Kapur is thought to have got Balan admitted to Khar Hinduja Hospital when they arrived back in Mumbai.

Balan’s spokesperson said, “Vidya is currently in expert hands at Hinduja hospital and is well on her way to recovery”.

The actress will soon be discharged.
