Vicky Kaushal: “I don’t want to live in the fear of my films’ failure”

With two major films in the pipeline this year, Vicky Kaushal is feeling optimistic about the future. Despite having a few set backs in the past, this definitely isn’t letting the actor feel down-beat about it.

In the Times Of India, Kaushal opens up about how past failures have given him the drive to improve himself and not dictate his choices, as well as knowing he is still new to the industry. “I have just started my career and it’s a long journey ahead. I’m aware that I’ll have to go through many ups downs but I don’t want to live in the fear of my films’ failure because then I won’t be able to take risks and evolve.”

Kaushal will be starring alongside Ranbir Kapoor, in the highly anticipated Sanjay Dutt biopic, where he’ll be playing Dutt’s best friend. Then there is ‘Raazi’, a story around the India-Pakistan War of 1971 which also stars Alia Bhatt. “I feel fortunate to be a part of ‘Raazi’, which is being directed by spectacular Meghana Gulzar. I am working alongside Alia bhatt, who is one of the finest actresses we have today. It’s really a great deal for me as a young actor to be associated with Dharma production for a film.” Says the ‘Masaan’ (2015) actor.

Kaushal hasn’t given much away about ‘Raazi’, apart from saying they are reading scripts and doing workshops for the film, with a view to start shooting by the end of July.
