Varun Dhawan rejects Aanand L Rai’s next post Hrithik Roshan’s opting out?

News about Aanand L Rai’s next have been doing the rounds recently. It’s said that the project in question will star Sara Ali Khan and will see the return to Bollywood of South star Dhanush. However, it seems the filmmaker is looking to cast another big male lead. Hrithik Roshan is thought to have opted out and now Varun Dhawan is also said to have rejected the film.

“The director needs another big Bollywood star to step into the film and elevate the project. But whoever he is approaching is declining his offer. First, he was in advanced talks with Hrithik Roshan but after WAR, he was apprehensive about doing a romantic saga. At this point, he wants to live up to his action star image,” said a source, as quoted by Pinkvilla.

Rai is thought to have approached Dhawan but the dates simply didn’t work out. The source further reveals, “Aanand had finally taken his film to Varun Dhawan, after Hrithik opted out of it. Varun respects Aanand and wants to do a film with him, but at this point, his dates are completely blocked with Coolie No. 1, Ekkis and then Shashank Khaitan’s Mr Lele. So he also had to let it go”.

One wonders who will eventually end up in the role because only after that can an official announcement be made.
