UK Bhangra legend Dippa Dosanjh, known as Dippa Satrang, passes away
The UK Bhangra community is mourning the loss of Dippa Dosanjh, widely known by his stage name Dippa Satrang, who has passed away. A pioneering figure in the British Asian music scene, he leaves behind a legacy that shaped the sound of 1990s Bhangra and influenced generations of artists.
Dippa Satrang rose to prominence with his much‑loved hit “Dhola Ve Dhola”, a track that remains a staple at cultural events and continues to resonate with fans across the world. His distinctive voice and emotive delivery made him one of the most recognisable vocalists of his era.
He was also celebrated for his Death Jamm album series, a defining contribution to the 1990s Bhangra landscape. The series featured collaborations with several major artists, most notably the late Balwinder Safri, with whom he shared a strong musical partnership.
