Taapsee Pannu didn’t anticipate ‘Manmarziyaan’ to be revolutionary

Having received huge applause from both audiences and critics alike, Taapsee Pannu probably knew she was onto a winner when she signed Anurag Kashyap’s ‘Manmarziyaan’. However little did she know that her character in particular will stand out in a more social way.

“When I heard the script, I never thought that the film would end up being a revolution of sorts for female characters,” Asian Age reports the actress explain.

She went on to say, “Rummi is able to make her own decisions and do what makes her happy in a world where she’s constantly under pressure to do things for everyone but herself.”

She may have been the one to play the character, but Pannu gives all the credit for her the appreciation of her character to one man, as she explained, “Thanks to the man who is the biggest feminist I know — Anurag Kashyap.”

The film also starred Vicky Kaushal and Abhishek Bachchan in pivotal roles.
