Steven Spielberg promises Hollywood-Bollywood collaboration?

Filmmaker Steven Spielberg has been in India and, having met Indian filmmakers, it has emerged that he is considering a very special type of crossover project. BizAsia can reveal that Spielberg is working on a venture which would bring together both Hollywood and Bollywood names.

The movie would be produced by Reliance DreamWorks which promises a collaboration between Spielberg and Reliance Entertainment’s Anil Ambani. It is likely that the film would be shot in worldwide locations, including India.

An unnamed insider revealed some details to Hindustan Times, “While Spielberg is looking at casting Aamir Khan, Shah Rukh Khan��or Hrithik Roshan��as the male lead, Anushka Sharma��is likely to play the female lead. Deepika Padukone��and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan��are also in the reckoning. The international actors being considered include Denzel Washington��and Bradley Cooper. Richard Gere is also likely to play an important role in the yet-unnamed film”.

This evening, Ambani threw a lavish party for Spielberg at his Mumbai residence and earlier today 60 Bollywood filmmakers attended a masterclass held by the 66-year-old.
