STAR Network goes free on NTL: Home
STAR Plus and STAR News will be airing free-to-air on NTL: Home for the next few weeks, it was announced today.
The popular Hindi channels have been available as part of the Sky packages since last year and this latest move has been designed to attract more eyeballs on the cable platform.
STAR Plus is available on 842 and STAR News on 843. The channels will air free from 10th May to the 27th May.
STAR Plus UK brings viewers a strong prime time line-up that includes your favourite serials and some of the most successful serials of all time including Kyunki Saas Bhi Kahbi Bahu Thi Mon-Thurs 10pm and Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii Mon-Thurs 8.30pm.
Star Plus is constantly adding new content, most recently launched shows include; Hello Dollie, a story based on the hugely successful book and Hollywood movie ?Princess Diaries?, it follows a teenage girl and her daily struggle to survive each day of school with minimum embarrassment. Mon?Thurs 6.30pm. Miilee is a new show to start in May revolving around a young fun-loving girl working as a maid, who has a light hearted and positive impact on the people around her. Mon-Thurs 7.30pm.
Some of the most ambitious and innovative productions on Asian TV can be found exclusively on Star Plus, Lakme Fashion House is India?s first fashion reality show. Where 16 budding designers battle it out to have their winning design be produced under the ?Versus? label and a 6 month internship at Versace in Milan. The series brings glamour, gossip and aggressive competition with an array Bollywood stars, sporting greats and international celebs including Donatella Versace herself. Sundays at 7pm.
Get closer to your favourite stars, with much loved celebrity chat shows. Ace film maker, Karan Johar, hosts his own unique chat show, Koffee With Karan. Each week Karan is in conversation with not just one, but two Bollywood celebrities at any one time. His interviewing style is amusing as he grills, teases and has coffee with India?s favourites. With a good mix of emotions, controversies and some fiery fun. Sundays at 9pm. Rendezvous with Simi Garewal takes a more subtle approach to interviewing a range of Indian icons, from actors to entrepreneurial business tycoons. Saturdays at 6pm.
Saturday nights and Sunday afternoons showcase the best movies from STAR Mast Movies and STAR Film Utsav, Blockbuster movies coming this is May is Main Hoon Na – an overall family entertainer starring Shah Rukh Khan, Bollywoods? hottest property. Also coming soon is Black – a film which breaks the typical mould of Indian Cinema, one which is expected to win an Oscar nomination this year, starring BBC?s Superstar of the Millennium – Amitabh Bachchan and Shabd a recent release from Bollywood starring the stunning former Miss World Aishwarya Rai.
