Sony TV ‘s UK Marketing & Distribution Head to leave

Multi Screen Media Asia’s (Sony Entertainment Television Asia) Marketing and Distribution Head, Shalin Patel is leaving the company at the end of this month.

Patel, who confirmed his leave on email today said, “After many great years working at Sony, it is with a heavy heart to say I will be moving on to new challenges and next Friday 25th April is my last day. I have enjoyed working with you all and hope to cross paths again in the future. We will no doubt keep in touch and I look forward to grabbing a coffee from time to time.”

Talking to BizAsia, Patel expressed his sadness at leaving the company but was looking forward to future challenges. He laughed, “I was becoming part of the furniture. I’m gonna really miss it as I truly believe the Sony team is the best in the Asian TV market. Will also miss all the people we have worked with externally but I’m sure our paths will cross often.”

Patel has been with the company since 2005. He started off as Marketing Executive before being given full responsibility of marketing the Sony channels including VIEWASIA.

It is not known where Patel will be moving to next, however BizAsia sources understand he is expected to head the international distribution for channels part of a public broadcaster. The company has not been revealed.

Tony Lit will takeover Patel’s responsibilities until a replacement has been found.
