Standing strong at the No.1 position amongst Bollywood movie channels in the UK, Sony MAX has just confirmed to that it will broadcast the upcoming Sri Lanka and Pakistan cricket series, starting later this month.

The recently concluded India tour of Sri Lanka proved a huge hit for Sony MAX, giving the channel an edge over its rivals. Within a month of joining the Sky Original Pack, Sony MAX beat off competition from Star Gold, ZEE Cinema, Rishtey Cineplex and B4U Movies. The competition is set to intensify further with the upcoming Sri Lanka and Pakistan cricket series, along with the premiere of all-time blockbuster movie ‘Baahubali’ on Sony MAX.

The series, which starts on Sunday 24th September, is expected to take place in the United Arab Emirates over September and October. It will consist of two Tests, five One Day Internationals and three Twenty20 International matches. It is also reported that one of the One Day Internationals will be played in Lahore, which will be a homecoming for the Sri Lanka team after their team’s bus was attacked by terrorists while travelling to the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore in 2009.

Viewers who subscribe to the Sky Box Sets package, will also be able to watch the cricket series and movies on Sony MAX HD – the first UK Bollywood HD movie channel.
