Siddharth Malhotra denies ‘Sanjivani’ going off-air in December

With speculation rife about the future of Star Plus’ re-booted popular medical series ‘Sanjivani’, BizAsiaLive.com has learnt that the show is expected to stay on-air until its agreed date in January 2020.

Rumours today suggested that the Surbhi Chandna, Namit Khanna, Mohnish Bahl and Gurdeep Kohli series, which has remained on the lower end of the spectrum in India ratings, will be bidding adieu to viewers in December.

However, producer Siddharth Malhotra denied that the show would be ending in December. In an exclusive interaction with BizAsiaLive.com, Malhotra added, “We haven’t even been given a first notice formally.” No official intimation but our contract signed is for six month since day one.”

If the channel pulls the plug on the show, then it could end on Friday 10th January 2020. Whether the show meets its fate before this date, is yet to be confirmed. Or alternatively, the show could be given an extension if ratings pick up in the next few days.

Despite its poor ratings in India, ‘Sanjivani’ has proven to be a success in international markets, including the UK. The show’s producers hoped that the new love track between the protagonists would entice viewers but it has failed to revive the fortunes of ‘Sanjivani’.
