Salman Khan’s ‘Battle of Galwan’ renamed ‘Maatrubhumi’

Salman Khan’s upcoming war‑drama ‘Battle of Galwan’ has reportedly been retitled ‘Maatrubhumi’. The film, which focuses on the 2020 clash between Indian and Chinese forces in the Galwan Valley, attracted controversy earlier this month after Chinese state‑backed outlets, including the Global Times, accused it of “distorting facts” and encouraging anti‑China sentiment.

A newly unveiled poster shows Salman Khan bloodied and injured, blocking a pole wrapped in barbed wire as it swings towards him. The updated title, ‘Maatrubhumi’, is prominently displayed, signalling a clear shift in the film’s positioning.

The film is currently scheduled for release on 10th April, though industry speculation suggests the date may be pushed back.
