Salman Khan to lose ‘Goodwill Ambassador for Rio Olympics’ title?

Salman Khan

Since the controversial remarks made by Salman Khan earlier this week, things don’t seem to be getting any better.

It has emergedthat Khan’s ‘rape’ comment will most likely rob him of his ‘Goodwill Ambassador for Rio Olympics’ title. Reported in Pinkvilla, theIndian Olympic Association’s (IOA) joint secretary Rakesh Gupta gave this statement to a popular daily,”His (Salman’s) comments as goodwill ambassador would send a wrong message to all the sports-persons in the country. He shouldn’t have used this analogy to describe his shooting schedule. He should have given a different answer or cited some other example. This way he has hurt the image of Indian sports. This statement will have an adverse effect with the Rio Olympics fast approaching. He should immediately apologise for his remark.”

Furthermore, it looks like Khan’s name has also been removed from the invitees list for the send-off ceremony. But A R Rahman and Sachin Tendulkar are still attending.

Gupta has been trying to get in contact with Khan to discuss the matter further, but has not been successful. Khan is currently in Madrid for this year’s IIFA awards.
