Salman Khan talks about working with Sonam Kapoor & Sooraj Barjatya

Prem Ratan Dhan Payo Salman Khan

Sonam Kapoor had made her Bollywood debut opposite Salman Khan in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Saawariya’ (2007). While Khan’s role in that film was a cameo, the duo will now be seen in leading roles together in Sooraj Barjatya’s ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’. Khan has recently gone on record to talk about his experience of working with Kapoor and Barjatya again.

Speaking to DNA India, Khan said about Kapoor, “After so many films, she is much better as a performer. She has that innocence and poise. What’s more, she looks the character she is playing, which is more than 90 per cent of the battle won.”

It can be noted that ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’ also marks Khan’s reunion with his debut film director Sooraj Barjatya. Khan and Barjatya worked together in the iconic films ‘Maine Pyar Kiya’ (1989), ‘Hum Aapke Hain Koun’ (1994) and ‘Hum Saath Saath Hain’ (1999).

On his experience of reuniting with Barjatya, Khan said, “It was really difficult… He is in the same mould of ‘Hum Aapke Hain Koun’ with all that innocence and purity. However I have moved on… So for me to come back to the Rajshri format was difficult initially. But you see, with Sooraj – the way he does it – you start becoming that character.”

‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’ also stars Anupam Kher, Neil Nitin Mukesh and Armaan Kohli. The family dramais slated for a Diwali 2015 release.
