Salman Khan has been slapped with a legal notice for the qawali ‘Bhar Do Jholi’ sung by Adnan Sami for the upcoming release ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’.

DNA India reports that record label, EMI Pakistan has threatened legal action against the makers of the film due to an alleged copyright infringement. EMI Pakistan says that Kabir Khan had not acquired the rights to use the qawali in his film.

It is equally important for us to preserve our rights and uphold our commercial interests, so as to ensure that deserving artists and the owners of original copyrights get the rightful remuneration for their creation,۝ stated the notice (cited in The Tribune Express).

The legal document also mentioned that EMI Pakistan possesses all the necessary documents which manifest the exclusive legal right.

‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ releases next week.
