Revealed: Harpz Kaur & Nihal amongst BBC’s highest paid stars of 2021

The BBC published its highest paid stars of 2021, which included a number of personalities from a South Asian background.

Recently departed BBC Asian Network ‘Breakfast’ presenter, Harpz Kaur (real name Harpreet Bhullar) was on a salary between £160,000 – £164,999. Kaur left the flagship show last month after a five-year stint.

Fellow BBC radio star, Nihal Arthanayake, who moved to BBC Radio 5 Live was on a salary between £150,000 – £154,999. His salary remained unchanged from a year earlier.

BBC One ‘Breakfast’ host Naga Munchetty was given the biggest pay rise last year with an increase from £110,000 to £365,000-369,999. During this period, she was given additional duties on BBC Radio 5 Live.

Amol Rajan’s salary increased by £80,000 to £325,000-329,999, while former Sky News journalist, Faisal Islam was on a salary of £240,000 – £244,999 – up by £35,000. News presenter Reeta Chakrabarti’s salary increased by £25,000 to £200,000 – £204,999.
