Revealed: ‘Dostana 2’ release date

Although the film hasn’t even gone on the floors yet, it seems producer Karan Johar has already booked a date for the release of ‘Dostana 2’.

The film will be directed by Tarun Mansukhani who also directed 2008’s ‘Dostana’ which starred Abhishek Bachchan, John Abraham and Priyanka Chopra. Talking to Mid-Day, a source revealed, “The film was supposed to release on August 15, 2013 but thanks to unavoidable delays, the project kept on postponing. Now the idea is to make the most of the national holiday as well as of the coincidence that it�۪s a Friday; the quintessential day for a movie release in India”.

It has been rumoured that Katrina Kaif is replacing Chopra in this second instalment but this remains unconfirmed.��Both Bachchan and Abraham will be reprising their roles. The film is expected to go on the floors in September or October this year.
