Remembering Divya Bharti on her 29th death anniversary

Popular 90s actress, Divya Bharti died on 5th April 1993. Bharti, who was at the peak of her career, fell from the balcony of her apartment in Mumbai.

Its been 29 years and while some continue to ask questions around her mysterious death, others remain in disbelief over the tragedy.

Bharti worked in a number of Telugu films and made her debut in Bollywood with ‘Vishwatma’ in 1992. One of her last films was the very successful ‘Rang’, which later was dubbed in a different voice after her passing away.

‘Vishwatma’ was Divya Bharti’s debut film. This iconic song remains in the hearts of her fans forever.


‘Deewana’ was one of Divya Bharti’s most successful releases. She was paired opposite of Rishi Kapoor and Shah Rukh Khan. She also won a Best Debut Actress Award at the Filmfares.


‘Rang’ was Divya Bharti’s last film. Whilst the movie’s shoot was complete, the dubbing was done by another voiceover artist.


‘Dil Ka Kya Kasoor’ was a runaway success at the box office, owing to the music of the soundtrack and Bharti’s work.


‘Kshatriya’ was the final release of Divya Bharti while she was alive. The film saw a number of big actors, along with Bharti.
