Rani Mukerji’s brother to assist Maneesh Sharma for ‘Fan’

Rani Mukerji’s brother, Raja, has been confirmed as a Yash Raj Films employee, BizAsia can reveal. Raja has joined the production department within the production house.

Raja apparently wanted to direct a movie but when sister Rani asked him to join YRF, head honcho Aditya Chopra disagreed. He instead told Raja to start with assistant direction and he is therefore going to be assisting director Maneesh Sharma in Shah Rukh Khan starrer ‘Fan’. Raja was initially into television production but wanted a change in path of his career.

In 2012, Raja was taken into police custody on molestation charges. It was television actress Pooja Mishra who had accused him of molesting her in what was then associated to a case of ‘casting couch’.
