NDTV Imagine will launch two new shows in February to mark an all-new look to its primetime schedule including a Rajshri produced drama and a mythological.
BizAsia.co.uk can confirm that ‘Do Hanson Ka Jodaa’ will be Rajshri Productions second show for the channel after ‘Main Teri Parchhain Hoon’ came to an end earlier this year. It marks the return of veteran actress Reema Lagoo to the small screen.
‘Do Hanson Ka Jodaa’ is a story of Preeti, a young girl who always dreamt of a marriage like they show in the movies picture perfect۪! But she finds herself married to Suryakamal, an ordinary looking middle-class man. The show traces Preeti۪s journey as she struggles to adjust to this new reality in her life.
‘Devi’ will be the second new show on Imagine in February. It will be produced by Shakuntalam Telefilms who had successes in the past with ‘Banoo Mein Teri Dulhann’ on ZEE TV and ‘Sabki Laadli Bebo’ on STAR Plus.
‘Devi’ is a story of a young innocent girl child ‘Devi’ who gets branded as the reincarnation of a Goddess. It traces the exploitation of ‘Devi’ at the hands of the village, entrenched in blind faith and superstition.
‘Devi’ goes live from Monday 8th February at 21:00 and ‘Do Hanson Ka Jodaa’ from Monday 15th February at 21:00. ‘Meera’ will exit from the schedule, which has proved disappointing since its launch in August.
Meanwhile, ‘Swayamavar 2: Rahul Dulhaniya Le Jaayega’
has been delayed further. The reality series, which was due to start on Tuesday 26th January, will now commence on Tuesday 2nd February and will be shown six days a week.
