Rajkumar Hirani invited to FICCI Frames despite #MeToo allegations

Rajkumar Hirani’s studios – Rajkumar Hirani Films, has been invited to take part in the latest FICCI media convention, taking place on 12th-14th March. Hirani who was accused of sexual assault a few months back, will also be attending the event.

Reported on Mid-day, the accusations were filed against Hirani back in January from a unit member, who was working alongside him during the making of ‘Sanju’ (2018). Despite this, the FICCI Frames have chosen not to let this overshadow their decision to involve him. A source shared, “Hirani has a clean image, and when the allegations came to light, many members of the film fraternity came out in support of him. The members of FICCI decided that until he is proven guilty, there is no harm in having him or his production house on board.”

The source also added that Hirani is also in talks to conduct a masterclass session at the event.

Hirani will be involved in the ‘Frame Your Idea’ section, that allows young creative minds to pitch their stories and ideas to the studio heads who will be present on the occasion.

Recently, after the #MeToo allegations came to the surface, Hirani’s name was dropped from ‘Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga’ (2019) poster.
