Prime Video India announces 55 new Originals, including ‘Farzi 2’ & ‘Panchayat 5’

Prime Video on Thursday announced its largest slate of new Original content to date, unveiling close to 55 series and films at its ‘Prime Video Presents’ showcase in India.

The upcoming slate is anchored by Indian Originals across multiple languages and formats, alongside announcements of theatrical releases from Amazon MGM Studios India and licensed titles set for post-theatrical streaming. The company said the multi-language lineup is designed to reach audiences across streaming and cinema platforms.

The Originals slate includes series and films in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu, spanning scripted and unscripted genres. Among the newly announced titles are ‘The Revolutionaries’, directed by Nikkhil Advani and starring Bhuvan Bam, Rohit Saraf, Pratibha Ranta and Gurfateh Pirzada; ‘Matka King’ featuring Vijay Varma; ‘Raakh’ starring Ali Fazal, Sonali Bendre and Aamir Bashir; ‘Lukkhe’, which marks the acting debut of rapper KING; and ‘Vansh – The Kalyug Warriors’, described as India’s first Hindi homegrown superhero series created for streaming.

Prime Video also confirmed new seasons of several returning franchises, including ‘Farzi Season 2’, ‘Panchayat Season 5’, ‘Call Me Bae Season 2’, ‘Dupahiya Season 2’, ‘Dahaad Season 2’ and ‘The Traitors Season 2’, among others.

Regional programming forms a significant part of the slate. Announcements included a Telugu adaptation of the Hindi unscripted series ‘The Traitors’, hosted by Teja Sajja; the Telugu drama ‘Guvvala Cheruvu Ghat’ starring Kiran Abbavaram and Thiruveer; the Tamil series ‘Exam’; ‘Vadhandhi Season 2’, produced by Pushkar and Gayatri; and ‘Inspector Rishi Season 2’.

The showcase also highlighted new collaborations with production banners entering streaming for the first time. Hrithik Roshan’s HRX Films is set to debut with the Original series ‘Storm’ and Original film ‘Mess’, while Alia Bhatt’s Eternal Sunshine Productions will produce the Original movie ‘Don’t Be Shy’. Prime Video said the slate reflects a mix of established filmmakers and emerging creators.

In addition to streaming Originals, Amazon MGM Studios India announced five new theatrical films: ‘Raftaar’, starring Rajkummar Rao and Keerthy Suresh and directed by Aditya Nimbalkar; ‘VIBE’, directed by Kunal Kemmu and featuring Kemmu, Preity G Zinta and Sparsh Shrivastava; ‘Dilkashi’, directed by Lijo Jose Pellissery, produced by Hansal Mehta and Sahil Saigal, with music by A.R. The company also announced a lineup of licensed films across Indian languages that will premiere digitally after their theatrical runs.
