Prem Chopra hospitalised after viral infection
Veteran actor Prem Chopra has been admitted to hospital following a viral infection, compounded by age-related health concerns. The 92-year-old is said to be recovering steadily under medical supervision.
Chopra is currently under the care of Dr Nitin Gokhale, a senior cardiologist, with additional treatment being overseen by Dr Jalil Parkar at Lilavati Hospital. In an official statement, Dr Parkar noted, “He is a known case of cardiac ailment and he also had a viral infection, and that’s why I’m treating him for the lungs. He is not in the ICU; he is in the ward.”
Dr Parkar further commented, “He is 92 years old and he has age-related issues because of which his recovery takes a little time. He should be fine in another three-four days and go home.”
Prem Chopra remains one of Indian cinema’s most enduring figures, with a career spanning several decades and numerous acclaimed performances.
