Many people were shocked to hear about Preity Zinta’s secret wedding in Los Angeles on Monday but did she get married for the sake of her concerned mother?

According to an interview published by Deccan Chronicle with the actress last month, Zinta was asked if she had any marriage plans, ���Of course I plan to get married, yaar!�۝ she shot back. ���And probably this year itself. If not for myself then for the sake of my mother.�۝

Like all mothers, Preity’s mother was reportedly getting increasingly concerned about her daughter’s marriage. She said, ���Mom keeps asking, when, when, when��_So it will happen soon. I�۪ve never hidden my relationships. And yes, I am seeing someone, you know it.�۝

Her relationship with Gene Goodenough has been kept underwaps after the public break-up with Ness Wadia. She added, ���That was over in 2009. You think I�۪d remain single after all these years? Whatever is happening with me is good. People say I am looking happy. That�۪s because I am.�۝.

Zinta has not yet spoke out about her wedding. However, the Bollywood film fraternity congratulated the actress on Twitter after the news broke on Monday.
