Parineeti Chopra on marriage & her ideal husband

In a recent interview, Parineeti Chopra opened up about what she thought of the pressures on women to look fair, and also shares what she is looking for in a man.

Reported on Asian Age, Chopra said she doesn’t agree with the idea that ‘fair is better’, “I am fair and I like it. But I disagree that it’s still strongly believed, because I think those times are gone. And even if it does exist in a small part of India, I think it’s changing. There are different types of skin colours in India, so who are we to say ‘you are not fair so you are not good for me?’”

The ‘Namaste England’ (2018) actress who has been linked with rumoured beau Charit Desai, revealed that one day she would like to get married, “I would love to get married to the right person. The boy has to be perfect, and we should understand each other well.”

Describing what the perfect man would be, Chopra said, “As an actor, I have a complicated life and career. So I look for a man who understands my life. He should love me for me, and not for the tag that I come with.”

For Chopra the concept of marriage is something she believes in, even though it’s a man-made institution, “It is old fashioned to feel that the next step is marriage. If we are happy and good in a relationship, I could just be with someone without the need of getting married; I am a forward thinking girl. But I love and believe in the institution of marriage.”

Chopra latest film ‘Jabariya Jodi’ (2019) with Siddharth Malhotra released two weeks ago, though it hasn’t been a box office hit like ‘Kesari’ (2019). She will be next seen in ‘Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar’ which has been awaiting a release date.
