'Nach Baliye 5' wins Sunday ratings battle in UK

‘Nach Baliye 5’ continues to be the channel driver at weekends for Star Plus as it held on to the mantle as the UK’s most watched Asian show at the weekend.

The reality TV show featuring a slew of TV and Bollywood stars pulled in an audience of 192,900 viewers – peaking at 266,100 between 21:00 – 22:30 on Sunday night.

According to exclusive UK viewing data obtained by BizAsia from Attentional, Star Plus overall had a good night led by ‘Nach Baliye 5’, followed by ‘Arjun’ at 20:00 with 64,000 – peaking at 89,100.

Rishtey’s top rated show on Sunday was ’18th Annual Colors Screen Awards’ from last year – which did very well by delivering an audience of 60,900 – peaking at 134,200 between 18:30 and 22:00. Surely, this year’s ‘Colors Screen Awards’, which are scheduled for this Sunday (27th January) are set to break the ratings record.

Another winner formula Rishtey has found is its crime thriller show ‘Shaitaan’, which yesterday aired at 22:00 – 23:00 and got an impressive audience of 34,500 – peaking at 52,100.

Rishtey’s MTV India experiment with ‘Unplugged’ is doing well too with an audience of 5,600 tuning in at 17:30.

Star Plus telecast a repeat of ‘Big Star Entertainment Awards’ between 22:30 and 01:30 last night, which got a reasonable 16,900 viewers switching on.

On Zing, UK recorded Bollywood magazine show ‘Brits Bollywood’ got a zero rating at 11:30. However, shows like ‘Two To Tango’ at 18:00 did very well with 27,700, followed by ZEE Multiplex at 16:30 with 17,600 and ‘Ten On Ten’ at 18:30 with 15,400.

Above data is an overnight rating and may change slightly after consolidated figures become available in seven days from BARB.
