Overnights: ‘Karn Sangini’ opens low on Star Plus in UK

Star Plus’ epic new series ‘Karn Sangini’ started off on a record low in UK ratings on Monday, according to exclusive data obtained by BizAsiaLive.com.

The show, which aired at 21:30 over a 60-minute period, could only muster in 4,200 viewers – peaking at 12,400 viewers. While, its too early to judge the fate of the show, ‘Karn Sangini’ is one of Star Plus’ big ticket shows and is expected to do well later in the series.

‘Karn Sangini’ replaced ‘Nazar’ in the 21:30 slot, which has been averaging with around 30,000 viewers. The shift of ‘Nazar’ to 22:00 also impacted its ratings with only 1,000 viewers tuning in.

‘Karn Sangini’ faces opposition from rival shows ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’ on Sony TV and ‘Bigg Boss 12’ on Colors, which have been ruling the 21:00 – 22:00 slot.

Nevertheless, Star Plus remained the leading UK Asian TV channel with a share of 0.16% on Monday.
