Man Jit Singh officially named as CEO of MSM

Man Jit Singh has been officially confirmed as chief executive officer of Multi Screen Media (formerly Sony Entertainment Television India), with immediate effect.

Singh who is also the company’s chairman, replaced Kunal Dasgupta in February this year. He left after serving the company for nearly 13 years; and before three months his contract was to end in May 2009. Up until now Singh was only interim CEO.

Andy Kaplan, president, networks, SPTI, says, “As interim CEO, Man Jit has provided leadership and stability. After MSM’s successes with Indian Premier League cricket and its new programming initiatives, we feel it’s appropriate to continue the consistency in management that Man Jit has provided and are confident in his ability to grow the channels businesses in India.”

“We have a brilliant dedicated and creative team at Multi Screen and I am thrilled to be able to continue the work that I have started. Our chief operating officer, NP Singh, is my partner in managing our businesses and together, we will work as hard as we can to elevate our channels to leadership positions in India.” said Singh.

Singh started his career with Nestle India and since then he has worked with several companies specialising in management recruitment and temporary staffing, including Futurestep, Inc., the online subsidiary of Korn/Ferry International and Talent Tree Staffing Services.

He was also the chairman and CEO of Compete, Inc, in Boston, a predictive analytics service using online consumer behaviour data to predict offline sales.

Singh has held senior positions at Sibson & Co, LLP in Los Angeles, The Cast Group AG in Switzerland and Los Angeles, and Cresap in Los Angeles.

Singh is a graduate of the Anderson Graduate School of Management at UCLA, the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, and St. Stephen�۪s College in Delhi, India.
