Lyca Media has announced the weekday schedule for its upcoming new retro Asian music station, Lyca Gold.
The station, which goes on-air on Monday 13th September at 06:00, will see Kajal’s ‘Gold Breakfast’ extending by an hour. Previously, Kajal fronted ‘Breakfast’ between 06:00 – 09:00. With the launch of Lyca Gold, Kajal will broadcast between 06:00 – 10:00.
Veteran broadcaster, Ravi Sharma will move to 10:00, from his previous 09:00 slot. ‘The Ravi Sharma Show’ will continue with the usual light-hearted entertainment and on-air interaction with listeners.
Returning to Lyca Media will be popular Bollywood singer, Bali Brahmbhatt, who takes over the ‘Gold Afternoons’ slot between 13:00 – 16:00. He replaces Deep Rajah, who moves to weekends. Since Ofcom approved the launch of Lyca Gold as a music station, it was confirmed by Lyca Media management that the speech-led shows will be axed.
Khush will continue in her slot at 16:00 with ‘Gold Drive’, while another legendary presenter, Anisa Nasir will stay at 19:00. The overnight playlist titled ‘Gold Nights’ will ease listeners to non-stop classic hits throughout the night.
Lyca Gold is the UK’s first and only retro Asian music station. It replaces Dilse Radio, which bids farewell on Monday. Lyca Gold will replace the Dilse Radio branding from 06:00.
Raj Baddhan, CEO of Lyca Media said, “The excitement surrounding Lyca Gold has been off the scale. We’re finally set to unleash the Lyca Gold sound from Monday morning and with this, will come a new feel and flavour to UK airwaves. Our programmes and shows will be consistent throughout the day with the best of classic Bollywood hits from the 60s to 1999. A completely new concept for UK radio, which surely will be embraced by our listeners. Our five weekday presenters have an instant connect with listeners and their knowledge of retro music is second to none!”
Lyca Gold’s launch partner is Colors Rishtey. Lyca Gold will be available on 1035AM, DAB, smart-speaker and LycaGold.com from Monday 13th September at 06:00.
