Kabir Khan on ‘The Forgotten Army’: “The easiest part was getting SRK on board”

Kabir Khan’s latest digital series, ‘The Forgotten Army – Azadi Ke Liye’ recently launched on Amazon Prime Video, reveals the easiest part of the project was getting Shah Rukh Khan on board.

Based on true events, ‘The Forgotten Army – Azadi Ke Liye’ tells the story of the brave men and women in the Indian National Army (INA) who marched towards the capital with the war cry ‘Challo Dilli’, to win back their country from the British.

Reported on Bollywood Hungama, the film director who used real footage at the start of each episode, said the hardest part was shooting the show on location to recreate the war scene, and the easiest part was asking the ‘Raees’ (2017) actor if he would narrate each introduction to the episode. The ‘Dear Zindagi’ (2018) actor immediately said yes and started recording within two days.

It’s been two decades in the making for Khan, who initially made a documentary on ‘The Forgotten Army’ (1999), marking his directorial debut.

The web series stars Sunny Kaushal and Sharvari.
