Whilst Star Plus remains the undisputed leader in the Hindi entertainment market across India, the gap has closed at the top with runner up – Colors.

According to data for Week 30 of 2010 from Indian viewership body, TAM, Star Plus has garnered 323 GRPs, down from 356 GRPs last week. Colors is now just 11 points behind the market leader, thanks to its five-year leap storyline in ‘Balika Vadhu’ during this period.

Colors registered 312 GRPs, that’s a rise from 291 GRPs in the previous week.

Third player, ZEE TV had a bit of tumble this week. The channel shed 25 points from 252 GRPs previously to 227 this week.

Owing to its successful run of ‘Indian Idol’, Sony Entertainment Television Asia went up 27 points to 162 GRPs.

SAB TV remained ahead of Imagine TV by clocking 91 GRPs, as oppose to Imagine’s 86 GRPs.
