India ratings: ‘Bigg Boss’ wedding boosts Colors

The much talked about wedding in the ‘Bigg Boss’ house last week has propelled Colors in the ratings but not enough for it to take the lead.

According to official TAM data for Week 46, Colors rose to 280 GRPs, that’s an addition of 40 extra points from last week. The channel is expected to see a further rise this week, with Pamela Anderson’s arrival in the ‘Bigg Boss’ house and new show ‘Rishton Se Badi Pratha’.

Even though Colors has been in the news, mainly thanks to the noise created by ‘Bigg Boss’, Star Plus continues to lead the way. Star Plus jumped from 343 GRPs to 373 GRPs.

ZEE TV was in third but only just. There’s now only 16 points separating ZEE TV and fourth placed Sony Entertainment Television Asia. The former climbed up the popularity chart with 189 points (up from 178 last week), whilst Sony TV delivered 189 GRPs (up from 178 last week).

SAB TV continues its successful run with yet another climb. This time the channel broke its previous record by notching up 137 GRPs (up from 126 points last week).

Imagine saw a slight fall in its GRPs. It lost 9 points from last week, collecting 105 GRPs.
