In Pictures: BizAsia at AVTA 2018

The fifth annual Asian Viewers Television Awards (AVTA) took place at Hilton London on Saturday 15th December 2018.

The event, helmed by Rajan Singh, celebrates UK Asian television talent, which this year was attended by ‘Ishqbaaaz’ actress Surbhi Chandna and hosted by Indian TV star, Karan Tacker.

Big winners from the night included ‘Ishqbaaaz’, which walked away with the ‘Soap Of The Year’ gong, plus Chanda won ‘Actress Of The Year’. Star Plus, which airs the show, won the coveted ‘General Entertainment Channel Of The Year’ award. Harshad Chopda whose fame rose further on the back of ‘Bepannaah’, took away home the ‘Actor Of The Year’ award. Other big winners included ‘Indian Idol 10’ on Sony Entertainment Television being named ‘Reality Show Of The Year’ beating ‘Bigg Boss 12’.

Hum TV, Geo News, Aaj Tak and B4U Music were also other recipients of an AVTA prize.

Javed Hussain from Media Reach was handed the Lifetime Achievement Award for his incredible work in the media industry.
