Humza Arshad joins CBBC’s ‘Duck and Frog’ as voice of Duck
CBBC has expanded its digital‑first talent roster with creator, YouTuber and bestselling author Humza Arshad, who stars as the voice of Duck in the new animated comedy ‘Duck and Frog’.
The series launched on 13th February on BBC iPlayer and will premiere on CBBC from 16th February.
‘Duck and Frog’ is the first commissioned project to emerge from BBC Ignite, the BBC Children’s & Education original animation programme. The initiative forms part of the BBC’s 2026 content slate, which aims to deliver fresh programming to children, families and educators across the UK through CBeebies, CBBC and BBC Bitesize.
Created by Bristol-based animator Sam Shaw and produced by Sun & Moon, the series blends slapstick humour with light‑hearted storytelling, reflecting contemporary British life. Targeted at children aged 7–12, the show follows ‘Duck and Frog’ as they navigate everyday situations with high-energy comedy and chaotic charm.
Speaking about joining the cast, Humza Arshad said: “Getting to play Duck is jokes because he reacts to life exactly how I do – confident at the start, chaos five minutes later. A lot of the situations felt weirdly familiar, just with more feathers involved. It’s got heart, it’s got silliness, and I can’t wait for audiences to watch it.”
Patricia Hidalgo, Director of BBC Children’s & Education, emphasised the BBC’s continued focus on providing trusted and accessible content for young audiences.
“We are continuously enhancing our offerings to children, parents and educators to ensure that the BBC remains a vital resource for young audiences in the UK and beyond,” she said. “Our goal is to provide public service content that entertains, informs and supports children in their learning journey, no matter where they are.”
