HBO Max set for UK launch in March 2026
HBO Max is set to make its long‑awaited arrival in the UK on 26th March 2026, marking a major shift in the country’s streaming landscape. The launch will bring an end to years of licensing arrangements that saw HBO content primarily available through Sky and NOW, giving British viewers direct access to Warner Bros. Discovery’s flagship platform for the first time.
HBO Max is known for its extensive library of prestige television, including acclaimed dramas, comedies, documentaries and a growing slate of original productions. The service carries globally recognised titles such as ‘Succession’, ‘The Last of Us’, ‘House of the Dragon’, ‘Euphoria’, and a wide range of HBO documentaries and limited series.
Major HBO series such as ‘The White Lotus’, ‘Succession’, ‘Euphoria’ and ‘House of the Dragon’ will shift from Sky to HBO Max as part of the streamer’s direct‑to‑consumer rollout, marking a significant change for Sky Atlantic, which has built much of its identity around premium HBO programming. Some newer HBO and Max Originals, including ‘Industry’ and ‘The Pitt’, are also expected to move across, signalling a broader transition of high‑profile content to the new service once it launches.
