GTC Punjabi begins full testing on Sky ahead of UK launch

GTC Punjabi has begun full video and audio testing on the Sky platform in the UK, signalling the final phase before its official launch later this month.

As first revealed by BizAsiaLive.com, the new Punjabi‑language channel—helmed by Rabindra Narayan, the former Managing Director of rival broadcaster PTC Punjabi—will officially go live on Wednesday 18th February.

Positioning itself as a next‑generation Punjabi broadcaster, GTC Punjabi is set to become one of the first Asian television channels to integrate advanced technology into its content strategy. The network has openly promoted its “AI‑first approach”, with Narayan previously highlighting the channel’s ambition to redefine Punjabi entertainment through innovation.

GTC Punjabi will offer a broad slate of programming, including Gurbani, dramas including ‘Mere Yaar Di Dulhan’ and ‘Bibi CEO Ji’, music shows including ‘Chai with T’ and ‘Desi Beats’ and major film premieres. Its diverse line‑up and technology‑driven model are expected to provide stiff competition for established Punjabi broadcasters in the UK.

The channel forms part of a wider network that also includes GTC News and Punjabi Shorts, both of which have accelerated their rollout across India in recent weeks.

GTC Punjabi will be available free‑to‑air on Sky channel 770 from Wednesday 18 February 2026.
