Fox’s first Indian show on STAR Plus in May

A new musical drama, which has been slotted in the primetime slot in India, has been scheduled in the early evening in the UK on STAR Plus.

The show titled ‘Meri Awaz Ko Mil Gayi Roshni’ is one of the shows that replaces ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’ (in India), which ended its season run earlier this week.

Looking at the UK schedule, a vacant primetime slot was unavailable for the newbie; instead ‘Meri Awaz Ko Mil Gayi Roshni’ will be shown at 18:30 Monday to Thursday from 23rd May 2007. Currently, a repeat of ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’ is slotted in the one-hour 18:00 band.

Incidentally, Ekta Kapoor’s new offering ‘Kayamath’, which is shown outside primetime in India (23:00) has been allocated a peak time slot of 21:00 (replacing ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’ in the UK).

‘Meri Awaz Ko Mil Gayi Roshni’ is being touted as a musical saga and is produced by Fox Television Studio, its first production in India.

The story revolves around a 19-year-old girl (played by Ashima Bhalla, a newcomer) from a small town. She is a singer and goes to Mumbai for an audition. It follows her trials and tribulations in the big city.

This soap has been made specifically keeping the needs of the Indian audience in mind. ‘Meri Awaz Ko Mil Gayi Roshni’ is a love story and has been presented like a film, set with the background of songs. It is an emotional story and is about relationships.
