EXCLUSIVE: SAB TV launch details emerge

Sony Entertainment Television Asia’s light entertainment sister channel SAB TV is planning to launch on Sky Digital next month, BizAsia.co.uk can exclusively reveal.

Our sources have informed us that SAB TV will take over an existing EPG slot from “early May”. It is not yet known, which channel it will replace.

The channel will be available as part of the MAX Mix bundle, which currently consists of MAX, ARY Digital, Aaj Tak, Sahara One and FILMY.

SAB TV has been long anticipating its UK launch but was delayed due to the huge number of channels waiting in the queue for a Sky EPG slot.

In the last few days, the Sony TV Network has begun its SAB TV teaser campaign across the MAX Mix channels with a “Coming Soon” caption flashing up at various times.

At the time of filing this article, BizAsia.co.uk made numerous attempts to obtain information directly from Sony TV Network but was unsuccessful. An official launch announcement is expected in the coming days.
