Disney has expanded its movie genre in India, with the launch of Star Gold Romance and Star Gold Thrills.
As the names suggest, Star Gold Romance will focus on romantic Bollywood movies. Recently, the network bolstered its library with the acquisition of Yash Raj Films’ productions. Star Gold Romance, the first channel of its kind in India, will air movies like ‘Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge’, ‘Silsila’, Kabhi Kabhie’, ‘Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi’, ‘Bachna Ae Haseeno’ and ‘Jodha Akbar’.
Meanwhile, Star Gold Thrills will aim to bring viewers a selection of blockbuster action-thrillers throughout the day.
The two channels have replaced UTV Action and UTV Cinema.
The company has also launched Star Movies Select, Star Sports 1 Tamil HD, Star Sports 1 Telugu HD, Disney Channel HD, Star Gold 2 HD, Vijay Super HD, and Asianet Movies HD.
