Colors replaces final episode of ‘CNWK’ with ‘CNB’

In quite a shocking move by Colors, the channel has replaced the final episode of ‘Comedy Nights With Kapil’ tonight with a new episode of ‘Comedy Nights Bachao’.

It was widely known and promoted that the final episode of ‘Comedy Nights With Kapil’ featuring the team of Akshay Kumar’s ‘Airlift’ would appear on the show. However, in on-air promos broadcast on the channel yesterday, rival show ‘Comedy Nights Bachao’ has taken its place. The episode, which is scheduled to air tonight will include the ‘Mastizaade’ team.

It is not known why the channel has pulled the last episode of ‘Comedy Nights With Kapil’ in the last minute. However, the rift between Colors and the team of ‘Comedy Nights With Kapil’ has become much more evident with this latest move. The final episode was expected to garner a huge audience after a week of stories surrounding its stars Kiku Sharda and Ali Asgar. The former was booked by hurting religious sentiments after depicting a religious leader, while the latter was granted anticipatory bail by the Bombay High Court.

Earlier today, Colors confirmed on Twitter that it would be showing ‘Comedy Nights Bachao’ tonight. There has been no mention of ‘Comedy Nights With Kapil’, which has proved a raging success for the channel.

Colors confirmed to BizAsia that the final episode of ‘Comedy Nights With Kapil’ will air on Sunday 24th January 2016 night.
