Bollywood is very much known to take inspiration from other international music artists, and it looks like music maestro A R Rahman has done exactly that.

According to reports, the song ‘Challa’ from Yash Chopra’s forthcoming release ‘Jab Tak Hai Jaan’, sounds very similar to that of a song by international musician Eagle-Eye Cherry. NDTV reported a source stating, “Save Tonightwas the opening track of Swedish musician Eagle-Eye Lanoo Cherry’s 1997 albumDesireless. It is quite surprising to hear Mr Rahman’s composition, as it sounds very similar. You cannot miss the similarity between the opening guitar pieces and the alternate rock feeling.”

The success of ‘Slumdog Millionare’ (2009) acclaimed Rahman an international name, bagging 4 global awards in relation to the films music alone. So it does make one wonder, whyRahman would need to include and inspiration of his so closely, instead of rendering it to sound a bit unique. However this doesn’t deter the anticipation of the film, and as more glimpses of the film are released, the more hits keep growing.

Starring Shah Rukh Khan, Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma, ‘Jab Tak Hai Jaan’ will be releasing on 13th November.
