Buck up Aamir Khan! Your fans await your return to the silver screen

Ask any 80s born Indian woman who is her long-standing celebrity crush, she would reply Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan. When Khan played the lead in ‘Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak’ he swept female fans off their feet.

His chocolate boy looks coupled with brilliant acting skills got himself a significant position in the Hindi film industry after the movie’s huge success. “Mr. Perfectionist” would go on to star in over 50 films for the next 30 years and more.

He has given B-Town memorable films like ‘3 Idiots’, ‘Lagaan’, ‘Dangal’, ‘Rang De Basanti’, ‘Ghajini’ and ‘Dhoom 3’ to name a few.

Interestingly, among all the Khans of Bollywood AK is someone who keeps a low-key.

He has no personal social media pages and doesn’t interact with the media much often.

He is also extremely guarded about his private life.

Nonetheless, these aspects haven’t affected his fan base in any manner.

The Tom Hanks of India was last seen in the year 2022 starring in ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’ and in another movie called ‘Salaam Venky’ where he had a cameo.

The former unfortunately flopped in India but made a promising box office collection internationally.

Khan decided to take a break from movies presumably because his character ‘Laal’ couldn’t strike a chord with the audience and the film’s response didn’t meet his expectations. He, however cited that his decision to take time off was because of personal reasons.

Speaking to the Indian media in December last year the ‘PK’ actor said, “I am not doing anything. I have been working for a long time, so now I want to spend time with my family. Work is underway on Paani Foundation (non-profit, non-governmental organisation co-founded by Khan), and there are other things as well. I will come back to acting after a year.” (PTI)

Nobody is complaining about the superstar wanting to spend quality time with his family.

But his fans would want him to return to movies soon.

Khan is unarguably a talented actor and just needs the right kind of script and a skilled director to make a grand comeback like what we witnessed with his good friend Shah Rukh Khan.

If different reports on Google are to be believed Khan has three upcoming releases tentatively namely ‘#NTR31’, ‘Mogul: The Gulshan Kumar Story’ and ‘Mahabharat’.

There are also reports of the veteran actor being in search for an action film to star in, something that could give him a much needed massive hit.

One can remember that apart from films Khan has been a part of a popular television show ‘Satyamev Jayate’.

The 2012 show focused on sensitive social issues prevalent in India. It is said the initiatives and ideas shared on the show have inspired many to take action, be it individuals, communities or the government. (Google)

This endeavour of the hero is indeed commendable.

Currently Khan seems to be interested in a different attribute of life altogether – finding his spiritual side. He was in Kathmandu, Nepal last month to attend a meditation programme.

After returning from ‘The land of the Buddha’, Khan was present at the trailer launch event of the Punjabi film ‘Carry on Jatta 3’.

He was seen breaking into a Bhangra and enjoying himself at the event.

The star also celebrated his mother’s birthday recently with his ex-wife Kiran Rao and daughter Ira Khan along with other guests who were present on the occasion.

He looked happy and smiled for photographs.

Now that this charming leading man of Bollywood has re-found his positive aura let’s hope he will without further ado begin working on film projects with great enthusiasm and grit delivering superhits as he has successfully done in the past.

Because as they say, ‘Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar’ – “Who would know this better than you Aamir?”
