It would of been another clash of the titans on22nd May, if producer Vashu Bhagnani didn’t make the right choice in advance. His film ‘Welcome 2 Karachi’ starring Arshad Warsi, and son Jackky Bhagnani was supposed to release with the much anticipated sequel, ‘Tanu Weds Manu Returns,’ but Bhagnani hashappily decided to push his film to release a week later, on 28th May.

A source confirmed the development to Bollywood Hungama, “Vashu Bhagnani is the last person to engage in battle of clashes. He is a businessman and values money. He understands that a clash never helps either of the two films in 90% of the cases. Instead of making any last minute decision, he took this step a fortnight in advance. That helps the marketing and promotion plans as well and results in a win-win situation for all. Why to get any bad blood when has been in the industry for over a couple of decades and knows how it functions.”

With ‘Welcome 2 Karachi’ being pushed to another week, Bhagnani has also confirmed that everything works out smoothly for the film, and gives them another week for marketing and promotions. “Yes, we are arriving a week later and it doesn’t make much of a difference as Welcome 2 Karachi is still a solo release. When we have such a fantastic response on the promo, then we can comfortably sustain out marketing for a week more. Also, our songs are catching up well too. ‘Lalla Lalla Lori’ is fast becoming popular with the youth. By the time the film releases on 28th May, I am sure it would be amongst the top chartbusters. It is a win-win situation for all.”

‘Tanu Weds Manu Returns’also be a solo release now.Starring R. Madhavan and Kangana Ranaut, the film is a sequel to the 2011 sleeper hit, ‘Tanu Weds Manu.’

Bhagnani has indeed made a smart move. The films and audiences suffer when films are pitted against each other. Here’s wishing more producers learn from him, and all the best to both ‘Welcome 2 Karachi’ and ‘Tanu Weds Manu Returns.’
